Affinity Selection in mRNA Display

In the early 90s, the researcher described the use of new technology for linking genotype and phenotype to select for new affinity molecules in vast libraries using in vitro selection principles. Affinity selection is fundamental to many fields, including pharmacology, biotechnology, and molecular biology, due to its ability to isolate molecules with specific and high-affinity interactions. Identifying peptides that bind to therapeutic targets with high specificity and affinity, which can lead to the development of novel drugs.

Our Services

After reverse transcription, CD BioSciences binds the target protein to magnetic beads and incubates them with our constructed library to screen for mRNA/cDNA-protein fusions that bind the target. When a biomolecule, such as a protein, is bound, an external magnetic field causes the beads to adhere to the outer edge of the container. During washing, the immobilized beads retain the bead-bound DNA.
